(Image credit: Apple) Apple Event 2021: what we've had recentlyĪpple announced the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, plus a redesign of the iPad mini, and update to the cheapest iPad model. Recently, hardware hasn't appeared at these events, though don't rule it out – especially if it's something developers will need to learn more about. At this event, it will reveal the big features for the next updates to iOS, watchOS, macOS, iPadOS and tvOS. We might also expect to see the new MacBook Air in this event – the iMac 24-inch (2021) was unveiled in this period.Īpple holds its big developer conference in June every year, and we expect that to stay true in 2022. There are rumours that Apple is planning an update to the iPhone SE in 2022, and the SE is traditionally updated in the Spring, giving it a nice wide berth from the high-end iPhone launch. It might even be the same date as the event.

Rumours say that the Mac Mini will get the M1X processor as well, making it a real powerhouse for such a small machine.Īpple will likely unveil the date you can download the next macOS update. It'll also have the extra-powerful processor, plus is said to feature an array of useful ports, rather than just the USB-C ports of the current model. Even more excitingly, it's said to have a new 'M1X' ultra-powerful processor, which looks set to be comically powerful – perhaps with graphics to rival the PS5.Ī larger version of the 14-inch model! This has the same size screen as the current big MacBook Pro, but with a more svelte body. The rumours say that Apple is working on a new-look MacBook Pro, with a larger 14-inch screen in the same footprint as the current 13-inch model. We're expecting improved sound quality, an AirPods Pro-like design, and support for Apple's cool Spatial Audio feature. These have been rumoured as imminent for release since spring 2021, so their time must finally come soon (and just before Christmas makes total sense – they'll be a smash hit). We'll update the list whenever we get more official or rumoured information about events, of course, and we'll let you know whether an event actually is officially scheduled by Apple or whether it's just expectation.
